The Meaning behind the paintings:

1- The woman who is transforming into a tree represents the connection with one's homeland, a connection not easily broken. No matter how hard I tried to distance myself to feel free and fly away, those branches grew again and pulled me down to the ground to relive the sorrow of that burning land. That land, empty of love and sympathy, of the basic understanding that all life is precious.
2- The second painting is about hope and the chance to live again free from fear of death. The angel represents Europe and the countries that are saving Syrian refugees from drowning in despair.

I painted these images to find peace and to say thank you in one way or another to those souls who believe that we can all live in a world where we help each-other instead of harming one-another.  I also dedicated the proceeds from sales to help Syrian refugees.
